They say French women don’t get fat, and within reason because I did an entire Mornings9 segment on it. They have rules like portion control, eating whole, natural and fresh foods and keeping track of how much wine is consumed.
But sometimes, it’s all about the first meal of the day, i.e. breakfast. Reality is that not all Parisians gorge on croissant and espresso before going to work. And we have the video here by Leaf TV with the ‘perfect Parisian breakfast’ to prove it; find the recipe below.
1/2 cup low-fat Greek yogurt
1 tsp flaxseed oil
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tbsp crushed almonds (or walnuts)
2 tbsp raw, old fashioned oats
Add first 5 ingredients to a bowl
Drizzle generously with honey
